No two bodies are the same. And at ND Pilates, no two lessons are either. Your instructor, Nina Haldemann, brings years of deep expertise to every lesson, working closely with you to understand your body, your history and your goals.

Real Pilates with real results

At ND Pilates, your technique, your alignment and your progress are always the focus. Whether you're recovering from injury, training for sport, navigating pregnancy, or simply ready to move better and feel stronger, you'll develop a Pilates practice that genuinely fits you.

Every session is calm, personal and entirely centred on you. We start with mat work as the foundation, and introduce the Reformer and Exo-chair when they're the right tools for your body and your goals.

Injury prevention and rehab

Pilates can be one of the most effective tools for long-term recovery and pain management, often recommended for back pain, post-surgical recovery and other joint issues.

Staying mobile and healthy ageing

Pilates builds the balance, flexibility and postural strength that make everyday movement easier and more confident, whatever your age and wherever you're starting from.

Pregnancy and new mums

Pregnancy and the postnatal period bring profound changes to your body. Pilates helps by building core stability and pelvic floor strength during pregnancy, and rebuilding confidence and strength after birth.

Building strength, flexibility and stability

If you want to move more freely, stand taller, breathe easier, or just feel more at home in your own body, Pilates is the right place to start.

Enhancing sports performance

Pilates helps strengthen the stabilising muscles that other training can miss, correct movement imbalances before they become injuries, and build the body awareness that sharpens every aspect of performance.

Meet Nina, your instructor and the founder of ND Pilates

“My philosophy is all about classical, results-driven Pilates: precise, thoughtful and coordinated movement that leads to lasting change.”

I’m a classically trained Pilates instructor with more than 25 years of teaching experience with clients around the world. My training is grounded in the classical Pilates method, and I work with precision and a deep understanding of how bodies move and adapt – to give you a truly individual Pilates programme. I teach in English and Swiss German from my private Pilates studio in central Zurich.

What clients say

“After just a couple of months of consistent training with Nina, the transformation has been dramatic. Not only is my pain completely gone, but I feel more balanced and strong. Most importantly, I’ve noticed a massive boost in my energy levels. I honestly feel years younger than when I walked in. If you’re looking for a workout that actually heals your body, this is it.”

Dan, 34

“I’ve been doing Pilates for years, and Nina is by far the best teacher I’ve ever had. Her attention to detail, her knowledge of anatomy, and her ability to spot a muscle that is misbehaving are second to none! Pilates with Nina is an essential part of my routine. She’s always the person I turn to, and I trust her completely to help me recover from my chronic back pain and to keep me fit and strong.”

Sarah, 54

“I had no idea Pilates could be so helpful. When I had my running technique analysed, I was told I needed to use my core more. I didn’t know where to start, but working with Nina has helped me think about my body in a different way and really activate the right muscles at the right time. I can see the difference in the way I run and the way I lift.”

Levent, 53

Your questions, answered

Do you offer Pilates lessons in English and German?

1

Yes. I am a native English speaker who trained in the UK – and a long-term Zurich resident. I offer private Pilates lessons in either English or Swiss German, whichever you are most comfortable with. (Die deutschsprachige Website von ND Pilates ist in Kürze verfügbar!)

Will my health insurance cover Pilates in Zurich?

2

No health insurance plan in Switzerland currently covers the full cost of Pilates. Some complementary insurance (Zusatzversicherung) policies reimburse part of the annual cost, so check with your provider – particularly if your doctor or specialist recommends Pilates.

Do you teach Reformer Pilates classes?

3

Yes. To give you the maximum benefit from Pilates, I work with you on the Reformer once you have mastered the basics of the Pilates method and when it is right for you and your body.

Should I join a group class or take private lessons?

4

Group classes can be fun if you know what you’re doing, you have already mastered the technique, and you have a strong core. They’re less good for injury prevention, pain management, rehabilitation, or pregnancy. If your doctor, osteopath, chiropractor or OB-GYN recommends Pilates, start with private, mat work lessons to get a really considered training programme delivered by an instructor who’s focused exclusively on your body’s needs.

Do I need Pilates experience to take a private lesson?

5

No. In fact, private lessons are perfect for beginners because Pilates exercises are all about control, considered movement, and attention to detail. With personalised Pilates, you get a practice that is built around you with individual instruction that helps you get the best results.
